Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Sourceteller. Written to be read, not to be survived.
Last updated 14 September 2026
1. Who you are agreeing with
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Sourceteller ("Sourceteller", "we", "us"), the operator of sourceteller.com. In these Terms, "you" means the person or company using the service. Contact for anything in this agreement: support@sourceteller.com. By creating a workspace you accept these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

2. What the service is
Sourceteller answers questions from documents and websites you supply. You create a workspace, add your material, and the assistant becomes reachable through the web console, an embeddable website widget, browser voice, and an inbound phone line. Answers cite the passage they came from, and the assistant declines rather than guessing when it has no grounded source.
It is a business tool, intended for companies and professionals rather than consumers. You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.
3. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep them current
- Keep your credentials secret — anything done with them counts as done by you
- You are responsible for everyone you invite into your workspace
- Tell us promptly at support@sourceteller.com if you think an account has been compromised
4. Your content stays yours
You keep every right you have in the documents, websites and other material you put into Sourceteller. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, index it, and send relevant passages to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy so an answer can be produced.
Your content is never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's, and is never sold or shared for advertising.
You confirm you have the right to use the material you upload, and that doing so does not breach anyone's copyright, confidence, or privacy.
5. Credits and parse pages
The service runs on two prepaid meters, bought in packs. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum.
- Credits are consumed when the assistant answers — chat, widget and voice minutes alike.
- Parse pages are consumed when a document goes through cloud parsing. Charged separately because document volume and question volume are unrelated costs.
The two are not interchangeable and cannot be converted into each other. Neither expires. Buy once and spend it at your own pace; a quiet season costs you nothing. We will give notice before ever changing that.
When a meter reaches zero, answering pauses and new documents stop indexing. Nothing is deleted — your documents, settings and history stay exactly as they were, and everything resumes when you top up.
Any free credits or pages given at signup are a promotional grant, carry no cash value, and may be changed or withdrawn for future signups at any time.
6. Payment
Payments are processed by Creem, who act as merchant of record. Creem is the seller for the transaction, their name appears on your card statement, and they issue your receipt and tax invoice. We never see or store your card details.
Prices are in US dollars and shown on our pricing section before you buy. Any applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated and collected by Creem at checkout.
Credits and pages are added to your workspace only after payment is confirmed. If a payment is confirmed but your balance does not update, email us — every purchase is recorded and recoverable.
7. Refunds
All purchases are final and non-refundable. Credits and parse pages are consumable digital goods, delivered to your workspace immediately on payment and usable within seconds.
Every workspace receives free credits and free parse pages at signup specifically so you can evaluate the service properly before spending anything. Please use them.
If we charged you in error, or a purchase failed to deliver, email support@sourceteller.com and we will put it right. Nothing here removes a right you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Unused credits and pages are forfeited if you close your account. They cannot be refunded, withdrawn or transferred.
8. Acceptable use
Your use must follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. It covers what you may upload, what you may ask, and what you may do with the answers. Breaching it can cost you your account.
9. What AI answers are, and are not
Sourceteller is built to reduce invented answers — it writes only from passages it retrieved, cites them, and declines when nothing supports an answer. It can still be wrong. Language models misread, and a correct citation can still sit under a flawed summary.
So: answers are informational only. They are not legal, medical, financial or professional advice. Check the cited source before acting on anything that matters, and do not present an answer to your own customers as a guarantee.
Answer quality depends on what you put in. Sparse, outdated or contradictory documents produce sparse, outdated or contradictory answers.
10. Availability
We work to keep the service running but do not offer a guaranteed uptime figure. It depends on third-party providers we do not control, and needs occasional maintenance. We will give notice of planned downtime where we reasonably can.
We may change or discontinue features. If we retire something you rely on, we will tell account owners by email first.
11. Our intellectual property
The software, interface, design and documentation are ours. You may use the service; you may not copy it, resell it, reverse-engineer it, or build a competing product from it. "Sourceteller" and our logo are ours to use.
12. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated here, including that the service will be uninterrupted or that answers will be accurate.
Our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost business, or indirect losses of any kind. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for fraud.
You agree to cover us against claims arising from your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms — including claims brought by your own customers.
13. Ending it
You can close your account at any time from the console; see account deletion. Unused credits and pages are forfeited.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or that puts the service or other customers at risk. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The new version is posted here with a new date, and account owners are emailed before anything material takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means accepting it.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Bangladesh have jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Talk to us first. Almost everything is quicker to resolve by email than by anything else.
